When I travel to a new city, one of my favorite things to do is grab a great coffee in a place that has a sense of community. It allows you to ‘people watch’ and get a sense of the locals who make up the cultural fabric of the town.
As an Australian, I have been spoiled for choice by an abundance of excellent coffee, and I’ve been privileged to watch great baristas weave their magic into their craft most of my life. Coffee in Australia is like smoked meat to Texans – serious business.
So when I arrived in DFW, I made it my mission to find some of the best coffee in town, not only for the quality product but also to be a part of the community which makes up my new home.
If you’re serious about your java in DFW, I’ve picked a few of my favorite coffee houses and talked to them about why they believe the combination of coffee and community is so important. You may have to drive a few more minutes past the (green siren) chain stores to get a quality cuppa and find these places – but it will be worth every drop.
